Hey Folks.

We have been displaying the council's plans for the street within the shop, as well as having the forms for people to express their opinions.

There does seem to be a great difference of opinions with those i have spoken to, no single answer seems acceptable to all!

We have today learned that one of the landlords that has a very large amount of vacant premises is in talks with Tesco as regards the possiblility of opening here, that could be a mixed blessing as we have many butchers, grocers etc. here.

Interesting times indeed!

New pictures soon too.

Tesco's would be a disaster!

Every one of those butchers will eventually close down, including the ones on Splott road. If they stay open late, many other shops will close too. I wouldn't say that there is any blessing there in the slightest. Tescos and the liek are strangling the local economy all over the country, and not only that they are strangling the rural economy too, by demanding ridiculously low prices from farmers for their produce then whacking a huge markup on the food. Any development of theirs should be fought off with all your might!
